Lambeth College management have announced plans to sell the Brixton site of Lambeth College to property developers. We need a campaign to stop this and save education in Brixton.

There’s a public meeting on Monday to launch the campaign and discuss the next steps:

shame on you lambeth council you are loosing the faith of your people and destroying our community. you say you are a co-operative council! ha ha, to what, capitalism? you words mean nothing and your actions are an utter disgrace.

  3. NV says:

Educational opportunities should be expanded for different ages and levels. There is a new academy, an adult centre, cultural activity, and new housing. The neighbourhood is getting smarter in some ways. Lambeth College seems to want to reverse this by simply converting a campus to real estate. It’s easy to sell, almost impossible to buy back. Selling college space is short-sighted. Local youngsters need a local campus, younger children must see learning continues beyond school, and the authorities should point to the future, not close it off.
