Between April 2010 and September 2012 we lost the Park Rangers, and the Ethnic Minority Achievement Team in education and community ESOL provision, and many of our adventure playgrounds. In other services staff cuts mean unplanned closures, longer waiting lists and disappearing services.

This year there are planned cuts of £4.3 Million in Adult Services, £900,000 in Children’s services, a third of a million in Finance (mostly from the benefits service) and £1.6 Million in Housing, Regeneration and Environment. Much of what is left behind is to be privatised.

All the cuts made so far by the Council in the past two financial years have added up to £66 Million. Over the next four financial years (to April 2017) they are planning a further £108 Million of cuts. The great majority of these have not yet even been planned. The coming cuts will require the devastation of key public services unless they are stopped.

Save our One O’clock Clubs! Save our Libraries! Save our Day Centres! Save our Social Services! Save our Homes! Save our Services! Be there on Wednesday!
