May 10: Lambeth strikes out against pension attacks

Posted: May 6, 2012 by rabidleftwinger in Demonstrate, Rally & Occupy!

The Tory/Lib Dem coalition would like you to believe the dispute over pensions is settled. But on Thursday 10 May workers from the PCS at Jobcentres and airports, UCU members at colleges and 100,000 Unite members working in hospitals and health centres will be striking to defend their pensions.

In Lambeth there will be picket lines from 7.30-10.00, at Lambeth college – Brixton, Clapham and Vauxhall sites, at Jobcentres, and at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals. Supporters of Lambeth SOS, and Unison and NUT members not on strike, will be attending picket lines to show their support. Perhaps you can do the same.

At 10.15 am there will be an assembly on the town hall steps in Lambeth (Acre Lane) from where we will all travel up to a rally at St Thomas’ Hospital at 11.00pm (Westminster Bridge Entrance). At 12 noon there will be a march across Westminster Bridge to a rally at Central Hall Westminster.

See you there!
